Bilbao to Santiago de Compostela
The 13-day Coastal Camino de Santiago and Picos de Europa walking journey abounds with landscapes that inspire and awe – dramatic ocean footpaths, soaring mountains, ancient stone churches and coastal fishing villages.

Bilbao Guggenheim Museum
It also offers the unique experience of walking 8 to 12 miles a day along the Camino del Norte, the less-traveled pilgrimage route to the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela where the bones of Saint James are thought to be buried.

Santillana del Mar
We will meet in Bilbao but begin our pilgrimage in Santillana del Mar, proclaimed by Jean Paul Sartre as the most beautiful village in Spain. Following white beaches and coastal trails, we'll discover sweet, seaside villages and partake in the bounty from the sea. We'll hike across the foothills of Picos de Europa National Park, visit monasteries, and enjoy midday rests with gourmet picnics. When we reach the lush, sleepy farmland of Galicia, our path will merge with more popular Camino routes as we walk our final steps into Santiago – once travelers, now pilgrims!
